Overview

The Finsia mentoring programs are here to support and guide you as you progress throughout your career by establishing a relationship with an experienced mentor.  The program enables  mentors to share their advice, knowledge and experiences with you to help you achieve your career goals.

Mentees DO

  1. Set your own goals.
  2. Take responsibility for your mentoring program experience.
  3. Be open minded, stay open to a different perspective.
  4. Take a proactive role in setting the appointment times and agenda.
  5. Understand what you want from the mentoring relationship and communicate your goals and aspirations to your mentor.
  6. Set side time for the mentoring process and keep all scheduled appointments with your mentor and display professional behaviour.
  7. Appreciate that your mentor is giving you their time and experience.
  8. Be open and honest with your mentor about your challenges and weaknesses.
  9. Keep information that your mentor has shared with you confidential.

Mentees DON'T

  1. Ask for advice on everything. Have a purpose in each request.
  2. Expect the mentor to know all the answers.
  3. Commit yourself to obligations you cannot keep.
  4. Cancel meetings/visits with your mentor at the last minute.
