The Finsia mentoring programs are here to support and guide you as you progress throughout your career by establishing a relationship with an experienced mentor. The program enables mentors to share their advice, knowledge and experiences with you to help you achieve your career goals.
Mentees DO
- Set your own goals.
- Take responsibility for your mentoring program experience.
- Be open minded, stay open to a different perspective.
- Take a proactive role in setting the appointment times and agenda.
- Understand what you want from the mentoring relationship and communicate your goals and aspirations to your mentor.
- Set side time for the mentoring process and keep all scheduled appointments with your mentor and display professional behaviour.
- Appreciate that your mentor is giving you their time and experience.
- Be open and honest with your mentor about your challenges and weaknesses.
- Keep information that your mentor has shared with you confidential.
Mentees DON'T
- Ask for advice on everything. Have a purpose in each request.
- Expect the mentor to know all the answers.
- Commit yourself to obligations you cannot keep.
- Cancel meetings/visits with your mentor at the last minute.
